Eric Austin YouTube Channel
2 minutes read

I don’t usually highlight people I don’t personally know, but I spend a fair amount of time on YouTube watching videos on shoes, tailoring, and classic menswear. I’ve been doing this for years—long enough that I’m now considered a young‑looking senior citizen—and in all that time, only a handful of creators have really resonated with my own approach to style.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been watching Eric Austin’s channel, and among all the voices in the menswear space, his style aligns most closely with mine. He’s based in Atlanta, articulate, grounded, and refreshingly measured in his views on tailoring. Like me, he gravitates toward well‑made garments that aren’t over‑designed—pieces you can wear twenty years from now and still say, “That’s a great suit.”

From what I’ve gathered, he’s a tailor by trade, whereas I’m not. I’ve worked with many tailors and MTM programs over the years, but I genuinely admire his eye and his philosophy. I had planned to write a piece on summer fabrics, but honestly, there’s nothing new under the sun—and Eric explains warm‑weather fabrics and fit better than any article I could put together right now. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I’d rather point you to someone who’s already done an excellent job.

I’ve posted his video below for you to watch. As always, our motto at The Dicky Bow remains: “If we have not worn it yet, we do not promote it.” And something tells me that at some point, I’ll be wearing something he’s made. The next time I’m in Atlanta visiting my good friend Joel or Teddy from Stylish By Design, I may just book an appointment, stop by Eric’s shop, and have a jacket made.

So take a moment to check out Eric Austin and his YouTube channel. Our goal here is simple: keep you informed and keep you looking sharp.

And on a personal note, this year marks 28 years of The Dicky Bow. I started this journey back in 1998 under The Rift Media Group. I never became famous or a giant in the menswear world, but I’m grateful. Grateful to the friends, supporters, and readers who’ve kept us online all these years. Your loyalty is the reason we’re still here.

Sincerely,

Erik
